Terms of Service
The terms for using Quilt
Effective October 31, 2026
The short version
- Quilt is free for the people whose benefits it checks.
- You decide which sources to connect and which programs see your facts, and you can disconnect at any time.
- Facts come from the sources themselves. We show them as the source reports them, but we can't promise the source is right.
- Quilt doesn't decide whether you qualify for anything. The program you apply to does.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and UniHealth Technologies, Inc., which operates Quilt ("Quilt", "we", "us"). By connecting a source or otherwise using Quilt, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
If you use Quilt through a partner app, that partner's own terms also apply to the partner's service.
What Quilt does
Quilt lets you sign in to sources that hold records about you, such as Medicare, and share verified facts from those records with programs and apps you choose. Quilt is not a government agency and is not affiliated with Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Medi-Cal, CalFresh, the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Social Security Administration. We may add, change or stop offering sources over time. This product uses the Blue Button APIs but is not endorsed or certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Using Quilt
- Only connect accounts that belong to you, or that you are legally allowed to manage, for example as an authorized representative.
- Give accurate information, and don't use Quilt to mislead a program about yourself or anyone else.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of Quilt or of any source.
- You must be at least 13 to use Quilt.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts other people's information at risk.
Your consent and disconnecting
Each connection starts only after you agree on Quilt's own page, which names the partner, what it will see, why and for how long, and then approve on the source's own consent screen. You can disconnect at any time through the partner app or by emailing [email protected]. When you disconnect, we ask the source to revoke our access and we delete the facts and keys we hold for that connection, as our Privacy Policy describes. Partners must delete what they received from Quilt when we tell them you disconnected, your agreement ended or you asked us to delete everything, and confirm to us that they did.
Accuracy and no advice
Facts are read from the sources you connect and show where and when they came from. Sources can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and we can't guarantee them. If something looks wrong, contact the source to correct it, and let us know.
Quilt does not give medical, legal, financial or benefits advice, and it does not decide whether you are eligible for any program. Those decisions belong to the program you apply to.
Third-party services
Sources and partners are run by other organizations under their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their services, their outages or how they handle information they hold.
Disclaimers
Quilt is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise Quilt will always be available or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Quilt and UniHealth Technologies, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost benefits, profits or data, arising from your use of Quilt. Our total liability for any claim about Quilt is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100). Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and tell you about every change, before it takes effect when it matters to how your information is used. The same goes for our Privacy Policy. You can stop using Quilt and disconnect your sources at any time. We may stop offering Quilt, and if we do, we will delete the information we hold as our Privacy Policy describes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there.
